Ingredients
Scale:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
4 large eggs
½ cup water (adjust as needed for dough consistency)
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and salt until well combined. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and gradually add them to the flour mixture. Pour in the water slowly, mixing until a smooth dough forms. The dough should be thick yet pourable; adjust the water if necessary.
Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker with cooking spray or olive oil. This will prevent the spaetzle from sticking during cooking.
Using a spaetzle maker or a colander, press the dough through to create small noodles directly into the slow cooker. If you don’t have a spaetzle maker, you can use a large spoon to drop small pieces of dough into the slow cooker.
Add 1 cup of water to the slow cooker, covering the spaetzle. This will help create a flavorful steam to cook the noodles. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or on high for 2 hours.
After the cooking time, check the spaetzle for doneness. They should be light and fluffy. If they seem a bit dense, stir them gently, cover, and let them cook for an additional 30 minutes.
