Baked ham slices are a delightful and versatile dish that can elevate any meal, whether it's a festive holiday gathering or a simple weeknight dinner. This recipe highlights the savory ham flavor and brings it to life with a sweet glaze that caramelizes beautifully in the oven.
Ingredients
Scale:
2 pounds of fully cooked ham (sliced)
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup Dijon mustard
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
Optional: a splash of orange juice for added citrus flavor
In a medium bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, and cloves until well combined.
In a baking dish, lay out the ham slices in a single layer, slightly overlapping if necessary.
Pour the glaze evenly over the ham slices.
Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes, remove the foil, baste the ham with the glaze again, and continue to bake uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes or until the edges are caramelized.
Once done, remove from the oven and let the ham rest for a few minutes before serving.
