This recipe takes the delightful crunch of fresh asparagus and wraps it in flaky, buttery puff pastry, resulting in an irresistible dish that is perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale:
1 package (17.3 oz) of thawed puff pastry
1 pound of fresh asparagus, trimmed
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon water
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, minced garlic, and lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix until smooth and well blended.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet to smooth out any creases. Cut the pastry into rectangles, approximately 3x5 inches each.
Place a small spoonful of the cream cheese filling in the center of each pastry rectangle. Lay two to three asparagus spears on top of the filling.
Fold the edges of the pastry over the asparagus and filling. Pinch the seams to seal the bundles securely.
