A delightful twist on a classic that combines the gooey, cheesy goodness of garlic bread with the hearty flavors of sloppy joes.
Ingredients
Scale:
1 pound ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 bell pepper, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup barbecue sauce
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and pepper, to taste
4 large slices of crusty bread
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh parsley or basil, chopped
Instructions
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Stir in the chopped onion and bell pepper. Sauté for an additional 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are softened. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
Pour in the barbecue sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Sprinkle in the smoked paprika, then stir until well combined. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes.
While the beef is simmering, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with minced garlic until well combined.
Spread the garlic butter mixture generously over both sides of each slice of crusty bread.
Top each slice of bread with a generous layer of shredded mozzarella and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the bread is crispy and the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Remove the garlic bread from the oven. Spoon the sloppy joe mixture generously over the cheesy garlic bread slices.
Finish by sprinkling freshly chopped parsley or basil on top.
Serve the Cheesy Garlic Bread Sloppy Joes hot and enjoy!
