A heavenly creation that perfectly marries the warm and comforting flavors of cinnamon and apple.
Ingredients
Scale:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk
- 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced (preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with butter or cooking spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt. Whisk together until evenly mixed.
- In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently with a spatula or wooden spoon until just combined.
- Fold in the diced apples, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon for the filling.
- Pour half of the prepared batter into the greased loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over this layer.
- Carefully spread the remaining batter over the cinnamon-sugar layer. Then, sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture on top.
- Using a knife or a skewer, gently swirl the mixture back and forth to create a beautiful marbled effect.
- Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
