Ingredients
Scale:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter (cold and cubed)
1/2 cup cold water
1 pound ground beef
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 medium onion (finely chopped)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1/2 cup carrots (finely diced)
1/2 cup bell pepper (finely diced)
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
Salt and pepper to taste
1 egg (beaten)
1 tablespoon water
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the cold, cubed butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add the cold water until a dough forms.
Shape the dough into a rectangle, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil. Add the chopped onions and garlic and cook until translucent. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Stir in the diced carrots and bell pepper, then mix in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). On a floured surface, roll out the chilled dough into a large rectangle about 1/8 inch thick. Cut the dough into 4x4 inch squares.
Place a spoonful of the beef filling in the center of each square. Fold the corners of the dough over the filling and press the edges together to seal.
In a small bowl, whisk together the beaten egg and water. Brush this mixture over the tops of each pastry.
Place the rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until p■ and golden brown.
Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
