A classic American dessert made with fresh blueberries, sugar, and crumbly biscuit dough.
Ingredients
Scale:
2 cups of fresh or frozen blueberries
1 cup of granulated sugar
1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 cup of unsalted butter, melted
1 cup of heavy cream or whole milk
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 cup of biscuit dough (homemade or store-bought)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the blueberries, granulated sugar, flour, and salt. Mix well until the blueberries are evenly coated with the dry ingredients.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, heavy cream or whole milk, eggs, and vanilla extract.
Pour the wet ingredients over the blueberry mixture and stir until everything is well combined.
Roll out the biscuit dough to a thickness of about 1/4 inch (6 mm). Cut the dough into strips or use a cookie cutter to create fun shapes.
Place the blueberry mixture in a 9x9-inch (23x23 cm) baking dish and top with the biscuit dough strips or shapes.
Bake the cobbler in the preheated oven for 40-50 minutes, or until the biscuit dough is golden brown and the filling is bubbly and hot.
Remove the cobbler from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm, topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
