The easy taco crescent ring is a delightful twist on traditional taco night that brings a new level of fun and flavor to your dinner table. This dish combines the comforting elements of classic tacos with the flaky goodness of crescent rolls, making it an unforgettable family favorite.
Ingredients
Scale:
1 pound ground beef
1 packet taco seasoning (about 1 ounce)
1/2 cup water
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (divided into two portions)
2 cans (8 oz each) crescent roll dough
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup salsa
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1/2 cup sliced olives (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon as it cooks, about 5-7 minutes.
Add the taco seasoning and water to the skillet, stirring to combine. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened.
Remove from heat and mix in 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, arranging the triangles in a circle.
Evenly spoon the taco filling onto the center of the crescent dough circle.
Fold the points of the triangles over the filling, tucking them underneath the dough to secure.
Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top of the crescent ring.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Once out of the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, garnish with cilantro, and serve with sour cream and salsa.
