Ingredients
Scale:
- 2 pounds of boneless ham, preferably smoked or honey-baked, well-trimmed of excess fat
- 2 large sweet onions, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup of light brown sugar, packed
Instructions
- Slice the sweet onions thinly to ensure they cook evenly. Trim any excess fat from the ham.
- In your slow cooker, start with a layer of sweet onions at the bottom.
- Place the ham on top of the onions.
- Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the ham and onions.
- Cover the slow cooker and set it on low heat. Allow the dish to cook for 4 to 6 hours.
- Once cooked, carefully remove the ham and onions from the slow cooker. Transfer to a serving dish and drizzle any remaining juices over the top.
