- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
- 1 cup of your favorite barbecue sauce (homemade or store-bought)
- 1 medium onion, sliced (yellow or white)
- 1 packet of ranch dressing mix (or homemade ranch seasoning)
Instructions
- Prepare your slow cooker by lightly greasing the interior with cooking spray or olive oil.
- Place the sliced onions evenly across the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Arrange the chicken breasts on top of the onions, laid flat for even cooking.
- Sprinkle the ranch dressing mix generously over the chicken.
- Pour the barbecue sauce evenly over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are covered.
- Cover the slow cooker and set it to cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours.
- Once cooked, remove the chicken from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
- Mix the shredded chicken back into the sauce and serve hot.
