A hearty, wholesome stew that combines traditional Amish comfort food with the ease of a slow cooker, using minimal ingredients to create maximum flavor.
Ingredients
Scale:
1 lb ground beef or preferred meat
1 package frozen meatballs
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
2 cups beef broth
3 cups mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, or corn)
Instructions
Prepare the Meat: If using ground beef, brown it in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
Layer Ingredients in the Slow Cooker: Place the frozen meatballs in the bottom of the slow cooker. Add the prepared beef (if used) over them.
Add Sauce and Vegetables: Pour the cream of mushroom soup and beef broth over the meatballs and beef. Add the mixed vegetables on top.
Cook: Set the slow cooker to low and cook for 6-8 hours or until the vegetables are tender, and the flavors have melded.
Finish and Serve: Once cooked, stir the stew to combine all ingredients. Serve hot.
