A crowd-pleasing appetizer that captures the essence of Southern flavors with minimal effort, combining olives, cream cheese, and biscuit dough.
Ingredients
Scale:
1 can (8 oz) of refrigerated biscuit dough
1 cup of green olives, pitted and halved
4 oz cream cheese, softened
1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Prepare the biscuit dough: Open the can of refrigerated biscuit dough and separate it into individual biscuits. Flatten each biscuit into a disk about 3 inches in diameter.
Mix the filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and Italian seasoning. Stir until well blended.
Assemble the bites: Place a heaping teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each flattened biscuit. Top with a half olive, then fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal.
Arrange on a baking sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the sealed olive bites on the sheet, spacing them about an inch apart.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and p■.
Cool and serve: Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
