Ingredients
Scale:
2 cups crushed pretzels
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup whipped topping (or a whipped topping alternative)
1 cup sliced fresh strawberries
1 (6 oz) package of strawberry gelatin
2 cups boiling water
1 cup cold water
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed pretzels, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Stir until the pretzels are evenly coated.
Press the pretzel mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Let it cool completely.
In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth. Gently fold in the whipped topping.
Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cooled pretzel crust.
In a separate bowl, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in 2 cups of boiling water. Stir until completely dissolved.
Add 1 cup of cold water to the dissolved gelatin and stir well. Allow it to cool to room temperature.
Once the gelatin mixture has cooled slightly, add the sliced strawberries and mix gently.
Carefully pour the strawberry mixture over the cream cheese layer in the baking dish.
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until the gelatin is set.
