One of the Most Delicious Potato Recipes

Hello everyone! Today, I’m excited to share one of my family’s favorite potato recipes. It’s incredibly simple, yet so delicious that you’ll want to make it again and again. Let’s get started!

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium-sized potatoes
  • Olive oil (enough for frying)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (to taste)
  • Fresh parsley (to taste)

Instructions:

1. Preparing the Potatoes First, we need to prepare our potatoes. Start by washing and peeling four medium-sized potatoes. Once they are peeled, cut them into long, thin slices, similar to French fries. This shape allows them to cook evenly and become wonderfully crispy.

2. Frying the Potatoes In a large pan, add enough olive oil to cover the bottom. Heat the oil over medium heat until it’s hot but not smoking. Carefully add the potato slices to the pan in a single layer. Fry the potatoes, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides. This should take about 10-15 minutes.

3. Seasoning the Potatoes While the potatoes are frying, let’s prepare our seasoning. In a small bowl, combine 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of oregano. Mix well. Once the potatoes are golden and crispy, transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil. Immediately sprinkle the seasoning mix over the hot potatoes, ensuring they are evenly coated.

4. Adding the Garlic and Butter In the same pan, reduce the heat to low and add 1 tablespoon of butter. Once the butter has melted, add the minced garlic and sautΓ© for about 1-2 minutes, or until the garlic is fragrant and lightly golden. Be careful not to burn the garlic, as it can turn bitter.

5. Combining Everything Return the seasoned potatoes to the pan with the garlic and butter. Gently toss to combine, ensuring every potato slice is coated with the delicious garlic butter.

6. Finishing Touches To give the potatoes a special touch, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the top. You can add as much or as little as you like, depending on your preference. For a fresh burst of flavor, sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the potatoes as well.

7. Serving Your delicious garlic Parmesan potatoes are now ready to serve! They make a fantastic side dish for any meal, or you can enjoy them on their own as a tasty snack.

Tips and Variations:

  • Cheese Options: If you prefer, you can substitute Parmesan with other types of cheese like cheddar or mozzarella for a different flavor.
  • Herbs: Feel free to experiment with different herbs. Rosemary or thyme would work wonderfully in this recipe.
  • Spice It Up: For a bit of heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes along with the garlic.
  • Extra Crunch: If you want even crispier potatoes, you can double-fry them. Fry them once until they are just starting to brown, then remove and let cool slightly. Fry them a second time until they are deeply golden and extra crispy.

Why This Recipe Works:

This recipe is a winner for several reasons. The combination of crispy potatoes with the rich, savory flavors of garlic and Parmesan is simply irresistible. The butter adds a lovely richness, while the fresh parsley provides a bright, fresh note that balances the dish perfectly. Plus, it’s incredibly easy to make with ingredients you likely already have in your kitchen.
