Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Add the chilled butter and mix using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Gradually add the cold water, mixing until the dough comes together. Knead gently for about 1 minute. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, green onions, soy sauce, garlic powder, and grated ginger. Mix until all ingredients are well-combined.
  4. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). On a lightly floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to about 1/4 inch thick. Cut into 3-inch circles using a cookie cutter or a glass.
  5. Place a tablespoon of filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over to form a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal tightly. You can use a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative touch.
  6. Place the filled high rollers on a lined baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown. Keep an eye on them to ensure they don’t overbake.
  8. Allow the high rollers to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm or at room temperature.
