  1. In a microwave-safe dish, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter.
  2. Microwave the mixture on high for 30 seconds. Remove and stir well to combine.
  3. Continue to microwave in 15-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth. This should take about 1 to 1.5 minutes total.
  4. Once melted, stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt to enhance the flavor.
  5. If desired, fold in chopped nuts or any other mix-ins you prefer.
  6. Pour the fudge mixture into a parchment-lined square baking dish and spread it evenly.
  7. Top the fudge with additional nuts, mini marshmallows, or sprinkles if desired.
  8. Refrigerate the fudge for at least 2 hours or until set.
