Ingredients
Scale:
1 lb (450g) flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
4 cups fresh broccoli florets, washed and trimmed
2 cups cooked white rice or brown rice
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon ginger, minced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup beef broth
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
1 teaspoon cornstarch (for thickening)
Sesame seeds (for topping)
Sliced green onions (for topping)
Instructions
Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and vegetable oil. Mix well until the beef is thoroughly coated and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
Prepare the Stir Fry Sauce: In a separate bowl, whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), sesame oil, honey or brown sugar, and cornstarch. Set aside.
Cook the Broccoli: In a large pan or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes. Remove and set aside.
Stir Fry the Beef: In the same pan, add more oil if needed. Add marinated beef in a single layer and cook for about 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently until browned.
Combine Ingredients: Add the broccoli back into the pan with the beef, pour in the stir fry sauce, and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through and the sauce thickens.
Serve: Serve the beef and broccoli over the cooked rice and garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
