1 cup whipped topping (Cool Whip or homemade whipped cream)
1/2 cup cottage cheese (optional)
Additional whipped topping for garnish
Orange zest for added flavor
Instructions
In a mixing bowl, dissolve the orange-flavored gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir until completely dissolved.
Once the gelatin is fully dissolved, add 1 cup of cold water and mix well. Allow it to cool for about 15 minutes at room temperature.
Gently fold in the drained mandarin oranges and mini marshmallows.
In a separate bowl, combine the whipped topping and cottage cheese (if using). Fold this mixture into the gelatin and fruit mixture until well combined.
Transfer the orange fluff mixture into a serving bowl or individual cups. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Once chilled, serve your retro orange fluff with a dollop of whipped topping and a sprinkle of orange zest.
