This Ham and Cheese Quiche is a delectable combination of creamy custard, savory ham, and rich cheese, all encased in a flaky pie crust. It's perfect for breakfast, brunch, or even a light lunch.
Ingredients
Scale:
1 pre-made flaky pie crust (or homemade)
6 large eggs
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
1 cup diced ham
1 ½ cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or a blend)
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh herbs (like chives or parsley) for garnish
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Prepare the crust by placing it in a 9-inch pie pan and fluting the edges.
Blind bake the pie crust for 10-15 minutes until slightly golden (optional).
Sauté the chopped onion in a skillet over medium heat until translucent, about 3-5 minutes.
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, and milk. Stir in the Dijon mustard if using, and season with salt and pepper.
Fold in the sautéed onion, diced ham, and shredded cheese into the egg mixture until evenly distributed.
