  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside to cool.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the Italian dressing, olive oil, garlic, basil, and oregano.
  3. Add the cooled pasta to the bowl and toss to coat with the dressing mixture.
  4. Add the mixed vegetables, cheese, and any optional ingredients to the bowl. Toss gently to combine.
  5. Season the pasta salad with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  7. Before serving, give the pasta salad a good stir and adjust the seasoning if needed.
